What better place to learn than on the job? If you love being part of a team and want to join us in shaping the future of fashion and design, our student and graduate programs could be the first step towards an exciting career at H&M. We offer a 3-month paid placement for students at Fashion or Textile Design Schools studying for BA or MA qualifications. We also offer 6 month paid placement for recent graduates with BA or MA qualifications.

Our placements are based in Sweden and should start the same year as your graduation. If the graduation is later than September, you can apply for the following year. All placements will be starting in September. Applications will open towards the end of the year for the upcoming autumn.
  • Product Development or Buying Internship
    On this placement you will get the opportunity to assist an experienced team member in one of our product teams within the H&M Group. You will gain experience in sample handling; order follow up and order quantification. You will also take part in the product development process, assortment planning and assortment building. We offer placements for students who are in either 2nd year of a BA or 1st year of an MA.
  • Pattern Maker Internship
    On this program you will get the opportunity to assist a Pattern Maker in one of our product teams within the H&M Group. You will be involved in making measurement charts, drape, draw and amending patterns, fitting samples on models and dummies. We offer placements for students who are in either 2nd year of a BA or 1st year of an MA.
  • Print Design Internship
    On this placement, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our talented print designers in one of our product teams within the H&M Group. During this time, you will learn from experienced colleagues on how to interpret new visual ideas into sketches and samples for upcoming collections. You will also gain experience in liaising with different teams and suppliers. We offer a 3-month placement for students and a 6-month Internship for recent graduates.
  • Fashion Design Internship
    On this placement you will have the opportunity to work alongside our talented Designers in one of our product teams within the H&M Group. You will gain experience in driving product development activities, designing new products, sketching designs, selecting materials to continually develop and improve our collections. You will follow up on sales results, and always be on the lookout for new sales opportunities. We offer a 3-month placement for students who are studying and a 6-month placement to recent graduates.

Our Trainee programs
Our Trainee Programs are designed to offer you a broad introduction to our company. They start in August and span over 12 months and are based within our Head Office in Stockholm Sweden.
  • Tech Trainee
    You will be introduced to our tech landscape, solve real business cases while working with our digital platforms and vast data. Once the program is finished, you’ll be equipped with the tools needed to take on a key role within our Business Tech organization as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or Software Engineer to name a few.
  • Digital Growth Trainee
    We want our customers to be able to shop with us however they want wherever they are in the world. As a digital growth trainee, you will work in a variety of different areas linked to our digital transformation journey. Once the program is finished, you’ll be equipped with the tools needed to take on a key role in our organization.
During the year you will rotate between different functions to help you find your sweet spot. Take part in workshops & trainings while working in a wide variety of teams providing you with insights, learnings, and a global network.

After the program is concluded, you will take on a permanent fulltime position within the H&M Group. If you are relocating from another country, we will offer you relocation support (including work permit and visa application). Note that these are paid trainee programs, meaning you will work full time and salary will be paid out accordingly. Further benefits of working within H&M Group will be shared later in the process.
